A masked man broke into the home of an elderly couple in Hulu Terengganu, Malaysia, threatening the husband with a knife and escaping with RM2,300.
An elderly couple in Hulu Terengganu , Malaysia, faced a terrifying ordeal when a man armed with a knife broke into their home in Kampung Dusun early this morning. Around 1:30 am, Mamat Samad, 88, was threatened with a knife while his wife, Rabiah Hamzah, 73, managed to escape and seek help from neighbours. Rabiah said the incident happened while she was sleeping in the kitchen. Her husband, who was going to pray, first noticed the intruder.
The intruder was not aware of the husband's presence at the time. Shortly after, the husband went down the stairs to wake his wife, but the intruder was already behind him. The suspect repeatedly pointed the knife at her husband, demanding money and gold. Fearing for their lives, the couple showed him where the money was kept. In the confusion, Rabiah managed to escape through a bedroom window near the kitchen to seek help from neighbours. Before her neighbour arrived, the suspect fled on a motorcycle. In less than 15 minutes, the couple lost around RM2,300
