The EFF has accused the Western Cape DA of sabotaging its shutdown.
The EFF in the Western Cape has accused the DA of trying to sabotage its shutdown on Monday morning. The DA says the EFF has lost support in the province.The EFF took to the streets to protest taxi impoundments in the city. EFF members waited nearly four hours for the demonstration to get underway. Organisers had a stand-off with the police on Jakes Gerwel Drive.
However, the police told them the permit only allowed for the EFF to protest and no vehicles could accompany the party."We want to start moving, we have been very peaceful, and we want to finish this march peacefully. The City of Cape Town law enforcement and police are on high alert ahead of the EFF-led protest over the wave of taxi impoundments.The march eventually got underway by late afternoon, when the EFF arrived at Ndabeni, where taxis, which were impounded, have been kept.
