Speaking to the media Tuesday, STF President Samantha Becotte says the union wants the government to delay its timeline on the platform in order to ensure the best possible outcome for students. Linked to that is ensuring the needs of students across the province are met, she added, which means addressing barriers like access to technology or unreliable Internet service.

“This is an entire system that is going to be created in less than a year. We don’t have an online or distance learning policy from the government. And we don’t have any answers to some of those big questions that I’ve already introduced,” she said.
