The Edo State House of Assembly on Wednesday confirmed Samson Osagie as the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in the state. DAILY POST also reports that Governor Monday Okpebholo has sent a letter to the House requesting for a supplementary budget to enable the government to function.
DAILY POST recalls that Okpebholo had, shortly after taking the oath of office as governor on Tuesday, announced the nomination of Samson Osagie , as the State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice. The governor also nominated Dr Cyril Oshiomhole, a son to the former Governor of the State, Adams Oshiomhole, as Commissioner for Health designate.
The Speaker, Blessing Agbebaku, told Osagie, as a former member of the House between 1999-2007, to take a bow. Agbebaku said taking of the bow was in line with the tradition of the House, in recognition of the contributions of former lawmakers. He said the confirmation of the other nominee, Oshiomhole, would be considered on Monday, November 18, 2024. The Clerk of the House, Alhaji Yahay Omoigba read the letter requesting the supplementary budget, personally signed by the governor.
