Joshua Page of Westminster died from his injuries after a car he was in collided with a truck owned by the city of Huntington Beach Monday morning. Another teenager was sent to the hospital in critical condition.

"I am so sorry to hear about the tragic traffic collision that took place this morning," Huntington Beach Mayor Barbara Delgleize said in a statement. "On behalf of myself and the City Council, we wish to extend our sincerest condolences to the families impacted by this terrible accident."

The cause of the crash is still under investigation. Because the crash involved a city vehicle, the investigation is being conducted by the Police Department. The intersection has been closed for most of the day, and as of 4 p.m. Monday, police expect the intersection to remain closed until Monday night.
