Newcastle United's big-money signing from AC Milan is about to start a 10-month ban for breaching the Italian Football Federation's gambling rules - ending his Euro 2024 dream
Eddie Howe will make a special recovery plan for Sandro Tonali to avoid "monotony" when his 10-month ban kicks in.
Lawyers for Newcastle have NOT been handed the judgement, and neither the Italian Football Federation nor UEFA or FIFA had written to the club informing them of the ban when Howe spoke on Friday. That leaves Tonali free to play at Molineux. "I will have to see the whole time he will be unable to play and then work out a plan for him. It will be very very difficult for him. He will get a feeling of monotony where he is not playing and training is a difficult thing and I’ve seen it many times with players.
