EC to hold special meet on Sarawak polls

THE Election Commission has received official notification from Sarawak Chief Minister Abang Johari Openg on the revocation of the emergency in Sarawak yesterday. EC secretary Ikmalrudin Ishak, in a statement today, said this notification was based on Section 3 of the Emergency Ordinance 2021, which states that the state assembly has to be dissolved on the date the proclamation of emergency for Sarawak is revoked.
