This ensures nomination process goes on smoothly without any incident, says EC chairperson Azhar Azizan Harun.

The Election Commission has urged candidates standing for the Kimanis parliamentary seat by-election as well as political parties to abide by the rules on nomination day on Saturday.

“In the case of candidates representing political parties, they are reminded to bring along the letter of consent for them to use party symbols when submitting nomination papers,” he said in a statement today. He reminded all candidates and political parties to always abide by the law, regulations, code of ethics and instructions from the EC, police and local authorities on nomination day.

He said, among others, it states that the use of any musical instrument or loudspeaker for political propaganda, including in vehicles and vessels, were not allowed.
