EC gets official notice of vacancy for Chini state seat

KUANTAN: The Election Commission (EC) has received an official notice of vacancy for the Chini state seat in the Pahang assembly.

EC secretary Datuk Mohamed Elias Abu Bakar said the commission received the notice from Pahang state assembly speaker Datuk Seri Ishak Muhamad on Friday after the seat fell vacant following the death of assemblyman Datuk Seri Abu Bakar Harun on Wednesday .

"In relation to that, the EC will have a special meeting at 9am, Friday at the EC headquarters in Putrajaya.
