With just hours left before South Africans head to the polls, the Eastern Cape Province is set for the 2024 National and Provincial Government Elections, scheduled from 27 to 29 May., announced today that the South African Police Service has prepared extensively to ensure the elections proceed peacefully across the province’s 4868 polling stations.
“We have implemented extensive measures to ensure a secure and peaceful voting environment. Communities can be assured that all necessary safety and security protocols are in place, allowing every citizen to exercise their democratic right safely.”Lt. Gen. Mene highlighted that specific areas have been identified as hotspots and categorised by risk levels—low, medium, or high.
