New one-stop orthopedic facility could bring dozens of jobs to Brentwood.
A prime Brentwood property, formerly home to a Los Medanos Community College satellite campus, will be sold to a private medical services group.
“We’re seeing significant investment in this corridor,” Joshua Ewen, senior analyst with the city’s economic development department, told the council. “…And, we saw this as an opportunity to go out and see what interest there is in positioning this property for future economic development opportunities.”
Dr. John Kronick, president of Golden State and principal partner of its subsidiary, Sand Creek Orthopedic Associates, said his group wants to continue its presence in East Contra Costa County where its businesses are now outgrowing their spaces. Under the plans, the company will build its new medical center in two phases and occupy it no later than Jan. 31, 2024, or fines would be incurred.
