Melissa also spoke about her real-life romance with Simon Baker, her former E-Street co-star who went on to make it big in Hollywood.“Although Simon doesn’t like to talk about E-Street or any of his past back in Australia, I realised. But that’s OK,” she said.Melissa discussed her time on the hit 90s soap opera on The Morning Show.The actress went on to reveal that she’s starring in a new show on Channel 7, which will air in October.

“It’s called The Local Council with Paul Fenwick and Vince Sorrenti and George Kapiniaris - complete trouble!” she said.“It’s a comedy, a completely offbeat comedy. But it was so much fun to film and working with George and of course Paulie, who I’ve worked with so many times before.The actress also discussed her upcoming role on a new TV comedy series.Despite her excitement at the new role, Melissa said she’s often frustrated when she’s “pigeonholed” into certain roles.

“It’s tall poppy syndrome, I guess,” she said. “You know, it was very big and the 90s and I still think that continues.“We have a very small industry so it is hard to work in, in our country and there are very limited jobs. But I do feel as though that I do get the same roles.Melissa and Simon Baker, who she has described as her ‘first love’.“Not the girlfriend or the thing, not that I would knock that back,” she said.

“I love to act and I love being on set and it’s all fabulous.
