In addition to showing off footage from the set on the day of filming, Diesel also addresses what it was like to welcome Johnson back to the franchise after their infamous feud, saying, "It was no easy task, because so much has been created in this universe. To tie up all these storylines, this character needed to come back into the mythology.
While Jason Momoa's new villain, Dante, spends most of Fast X focused exacting revenge on Dom for the death of his father, the post-credits scene makes clear that he is also well aware of the role that Hobbs played in the traumatic event. With Fast & Furious 11 confirmed to be on the way, the stage is now set for Dom and Hobbs to join forces against their new common enemy.
In addition to Fast & Furious 11, however, Johnson is also confirmed to be getting his own Fast and Furious Hobbs spinoff movie. This spinoff will reportedly also feature Momoa's villain and will seemingly dig deeper into the conflict between the two characters. It's very likely that this spinoff movie will help to bridge the gap between Fast X and Fast & Furious 11, which is shaping up to be the most explosive showdown in the franchise's history.
