Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte once again floated his possible vice presidential bid in 2022, a scenario some political analysts have described to be a “bastardization of the electoral process.”
PDP-Laban members even said they would give Duterte a free hand in choosing the presidential candidate he would run alongside, even if the candidate was not a party member. Christian Monsod, former chairman of the Commission on Elections one of the framers of the 1987 Constitution, also said a vice president run by Duterte could be aAfter floating his possible vice presidential bid, Duterte went on to lambast his own party mate, Senator Manny Pacquiao over the latter’s recent comments about corruption under the current administration.Duterte even went as far as threatening to campaign against Pacquiao should he run for president in the elections.
