The Food Safety Authority of Ireland has issued several Food Alerts or Food Allergen Alerts in recent months for certain batches of products sold in Dunnes Stores. Some of the affected items include bread, cereal and a milk alternative.
A number of food items have been taken off Dunnes Stores' shelves recently after being recalled over food safety fears.
The FSAI explains: “Food alerts are notifications issued by the FSAI to official agencies and food businesses or other businesses relating to an identified hazard i.e. a biological, chemical or physical agent in, or condition of, food/food contact materials with the potential to cause an adverse health effect.”
Dunnes Stores said: "Customers are advised not to consume this product, instead to return it to a Dunnes Stores store for a full refund. No receipt is required. We apologise that it has been necessary to recall this product and for the inconvenience caused."Dunnes Stores Soya Drink 1 Ltr Batches of the milk-alternative Dunnes Stores Soya Drink 1 Ltr have been recalled due to quality issues.
The FSAI said: "Kellanova is recalling the above batches of Kellogg's Corn Flakes Chocolate Flavour due to a potential presence of hard lumps that may pose a choking hazard and / or dental damage."
