ILOILO CITY – The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-6 has launched a campaign to make Western Visayas the capital for Healthcare Information Management Service (HIMS).
“Let us continue to collaborate and make Region 6 as an innovative and digitally-enabled region – as HIMS capital of the world by 2028 and a seedbed of startups,” said DTI-6 Director Ermelinda Pollentes at the recent Online Slingshot Region 6 2023 which brought together industry experts, educators, entrepreneurs, and government to explore the HIMS sector.
THE Department of Trade and Industry launches the campaign to make Western Visayas region as the capital for Healthcare Information Management Service. Pollentes said the HIMS sector can be integrated into the Information Technology and Business Process Management industry that already exists in the region.DTI-6 aims to have at least 30 HIMS companies in Western Visayas by 2028.
Pollentes said there is room for growth in the HIMS industry and beefing up human resources is the key. She urged partnerships between the government, local governments, the private sector, and the academe.
