To better protect street children, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) will fully implement Oplan Pag-Abot in Metro Manila.
DSWD Spokesman Romel Lopez said in a public forum on Monday that Oplan Pag-Abot, one of the DSWD's newest programs, aims to reduce the risks and vulnerabilities of children, individuals, and families in street situations through outreach operations and the implementation of various interventions.
'The DSWD will work closely with local chief executives to ensure proper dialogue and coordination, allowing us to monitor progress toward reaching out to families and children on the streets,' Lopez said.'We will focus initially on Metro Manila, and once we see how effective it is, we will replicate it in the country's other highly urbanized cities,' he added.
