KOTA KINABALU: A drunk man is believed to have beaten his father to death following a misunderstanding in Kg Ulu Teburi, Tungku Lahad Datu on Monday.

The 62-year-old victim, a farmer, was said to have been cooking on the second floor of their house when the 30-year-old suspect called him downstairs prior to the 8am incident.

“The suspect was believed to have grabbed a machete nearby and tried attacking his father, but the older man managed to avoid getting slashed,” he said.ACP Nasri said the victim fell and slipped down a hill near the scene following the incident.
