Penang police successfully disrupted a drug trafficking syndicate after arresting a local man in an operation near Bukit Mertajam. Police seized various types of drugs, including syabu and heroin, estimated to be worth RM204,000 and capable of up to 35,000 uses. The 39-year-old suspect was apprehended in front of his house after police inspected his parked motorcycle. Investigations revealed the syndicate had been operating since September 2024, with Penang as its primary market.

Hamzah berkata, suspek yang berusia 39 tahun itu ditahan di hadapan rumahnya di Bukit Mertajam selepas polis memeriksa sebuah motosikal milik lelaki berkenaan yang diparkir di situ. “Keseluruhan rampasan dadah ini dianggarkan bernilai RM204,000 dan boleh digunakan sehingga 35,000 kali penggunaan,” katanya di sini, hari ini.
