It seemed like a tall tale at first: reports of a giraffe heading down a busy highway just south of Sydney on Wednesday morning.
“I was following an oversized load … and I looked up and a giraffe was looking at me,” said Peter, a stunned driver who phoned Ben Fordham’s 2GB on Wednesday morning to report his bizarre sighting at Pheasants Nest.Soon more baffled motorists were reporting a similar experience.
A spokesman from Zoos Victoria confirmed there were two giraffes being moved to Werribee Open Range Zoo from Queensland.
