Autonomous cars will be updated over-the-air—but it's not as grandiose as you might think

Dealers too have reported that when OTAs are being performed remotely, while someone’s car sits in their garage at home, the dealership at times get phone calls from their customers as to what the OTA consists of. Unfortunately, there often is a knowledge gap between what the automaker is pushing out via their OTA cloud to the vehicles, and what the local dealership knows about it. This can be confounding to customers and make dealerships look peculiarly out-of-the-loop and unaware.
This kind of rapidity can seem on the surface like a blessing.
