The driver of a Tesla died after she crashed through a fence and into a swimming pool at a home in San Rafael Saturday.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred shortly after 7 a.m. at a residence on Bonnie Banks Way in San Rafael. A female at the wheel of a Tesla was driving west on Point San Pedro Road and crashed through a backyard fence and into the swimming pool. She was pronounced dead at the scene by first responders which included San Rafael police and fire.No one in the home was hurt and damage was confined to the pool area.© 2023 CBS Broadcasting Inc.
