Rap icon Drake announced the addition of 12 new dates to his “It’s All A Blur Tour” featuring 21 Savage, including a July 1 show at the Schottenstein Center in Columbus.
The tour will be Drake’s first since 2018′s “Aubrey & The Three Migos Tour,” which grossed more than $100 million from 54 shows. So far, the “It’s All A Blur Tour” seems poised to match that. In fact, it is selling so well that the former “DeGrassi: The Next Generation” star has had to add shows in cities where there were already multiple shows booked, including a fourth show in Inglewood, Calif., and a second night in Glendale, Arizona.
Drake and his touring partner, Atlanta rapper 21 Savage, are riding high from the success of their collaborative album “Her Loss” which peaked at the top of the Billboard 200 and had all 16 tracks make Billboard’s Hot 100 list. “Her Loss” was Drake’s 12th No. 1 album in the U.S. and 21 Savage’s third. Drake, one of the most successful rappers of all time, has had all seven of his full-length albums peak at No.1 on the Billboard charts. He hasn’t toured in five years but has kept a steady stream of music coming for fans, including the 2018′s “Scorpion” and 2021′s “Certified Lover Boy” and “Honestly, Nevermind” from 2022, which featured the single “Jimmy Cooks,” with 21 Savage.
London-born, Atlanta-raised rapper 21 Savage doesn’t have nearly the track record of his collaborator but his second album, “I Am Greater Than I Was,” from 2018 was met with widespread acclaim, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and was nominated for best rap album Grammy in 2020.
