JOHOR BARU: A 39-year-old draftsman pleaded not guilty at the Session Court here to four charges of allegedly sending insulting texts and pictures using his Facebook account last year.
Muhammad Firdaus Embong made the plea after the charges were read to him in front of Judge Datuk Che Wan Zaidi Che Wan Ibrahim here on Tuesday .
The act is an offence under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act, which outlines the improper use of network facilities or services. The case was prosecuted by Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission prosecution officer Mai Zairani Zainal Abidin and Deputy Public Prosecutor Fazril Sani Mohamad Fadzil, while Firdaus was not represented.
