PETALING JAYA: Road safety and the expansion of the Batu Berendam Airport were among the issues discussed between Transport Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong and Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Mohd Ali Rustam during a meeting on Tuesday (Aug 23) evening.

The Transport Minister said that he and Mohd Ali had also discussed the possibility of a High Speed Rail project in Melaka's ongoing drive for development.

"Among the topics discussed included the road safety campaign, the HSR project which will surely drive development in Melaka and the expansion of the Batu Berendam Airport," Dr Wee said in a Facebook post on Tuesday. "I gave Tun an overview of MOT's plans to reduce road fatalities by 50% come 2030," said the MCA president.
