KUALA LUMPUR, June 6 — A total of 5,650 replacement housing units for the B40 group are being built under redevelopment privatisation projects involving a few low-cost apartments, namely Sri Pulau Pinang, Sri Melaka, Sri Johor and Taman Ikan Emas in Bandar Tun Razak, Cheras.
“The projects under the Department of Federal Territories, through public-private partnership, aim to upgrade the lives of residents with a more comfortable living environment, because each unit has already reached the age of half a century, in addition to having a small house area and a lack of basic facilities such as lifts, surau and halls.
Dr Wan Azizah said that the redevelopment privatisation project has two phases of implementation, involving a total cost of RM1.19 billion over an area of 55,948 hectares . “The second phase will start after the completion of the first phase. Each phase of development takes four years, and is expected to be completed in 2030,” she said.
