Dr Mahathir’s ‘no experience, no ideas’ criticism of Ismail Sabri unfair, say analysts
Pejuang chairman Dr Mahathir Mohamad has criticised PM Ismail Sabri Yaacob's performance in a role the former held for many years. Political observers consider the negative assessment unfair and misplaced. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, August 30, 2022.
The former prime minister also said that Ismail had met with him before he was appointed prime minister, but has not since then. Independent observer, Mohd Sayuti Omar said Ismail Sabri was able to bring political stability when the country needed such steadiness. Sayuti added that Ismail Sabri was the second prime minister after Abdul Razak Hussein to be able to bring the opposition to the negotiation table.
