DR Mahathir Mohamad bukan lagi ahli Bersatu, selepas keahliannya gugur serta merta apabila beliau tidak menyokong kerajaan Perikatan Nasional yang diterajui oleh Perdana Mentri Muhyiddin Yassin, yang juga presiden Bersatu, kata parti itu. Dr Mahathir adalah ahli pertama Bersatu, yang juga merupakan pengasas parti yang ditubuhkan empat tahun lalu.
