ALOR SETAR: The decision to appoint Latheefa Koya as the new Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief is final, says Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
"The appointment is final and the decision has already been made," he added.
The Prime Minister was asked to comment on PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's statement that the premier needed to clarify the appointment of Latheefa as the new MACC head at the proper forums. On Friday , Anwar said the decision to appoint Latheefa was made by the Prime Minister and that he had only learnt about it from the announcement.
On whether there would be any last minute changes, Dr Mahathir said,"It is final and will not change." "I don't want to be criticised again and labelled a 'U-turn' leader," he said during the Hari Raya open house of Kedah Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir at Seri Mentaloon, Anak Bukit, Kedah here on Saturday ."He has the right to raise questions and I have a right to answer," Dr Mahathir added.
