During Question Time today, the Langkawi MP reiterated that the project in its original form would severely drain public coffers. “However, if we carry on, we will also be tied down with billions in debt that will take decades to pay off.Dr Mahathir was responding to Datuk Seri Ismail Mohamed Said who asked if it was feasible to postpone the project until public finances improve.Dr Mahathir also criticised the previous administration for signing the disadvantageous agreement, the full extent of which he said Pakatan Harapan only discovered upon taking power.
