IPOH: Villagers can only use water from Ayer Ganda for external use, says Deputy Health Minister Dr Lee Boon Chye.

He said water taken from the treatment plant is still safe for washing and bathing, but advised villagers not to consume the water until further notice."The project will be completed within six months’ time,” he told at a press conference after visiting Hospital Kampar here on Thursday .

Following reports of 0.024mg/L arsenic levels at the same plant by the Health Ministry, SPAN ordered the indefinite shutdown of the plant on April 9. When contacted, LAP director Datuk Mohd Yusuf Mohd Isa said statements regarding the water pollution will only be released by a special task force, or by Perak Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu.
