KUCHING, July 3 — Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi today said he has held discussions with Tourism, Culture and Arts Minister Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing over the latter’s accusations last week of abuse of power and corruption allegedly committed by Immigration officers.
Zahid, who is also the rural and regional development minister, had been asked for his opinion on Tiong’s decision to confront Immigration officers over the detention of a female Chinese national. However, he denied the allegation that he had released a foreign tourist detained by Immigration, saying that he had no such power.
