Dozens were killed when hundreds of pagers, walkie-talkies exploded in Lebanon — here’s what we know about the attacks linked to Israel
Those blasts killed at least 12 people, including two children, and wounded 2,323, Health Minister Firass Abiad said yesterday, revising down an earlier toll for the wounded. Hezbollah already had concerns about the security of its communications after losing several key commanders to Israeli strikes in recent months.
Since October, Hamas ally Hezbollah has also traded almost daily fire with Israeli troops along the Lebanon-Israel border. “Data indicates the devices were pre-programmed to detonate and contained explosive materials planted next to the battery,” the official said, requesting anonymity to discuss sensitive matters.
