U.S. stocks kicked off at fresh records on Wednesday as the stock market appeared inoculated from concerns about COVID-19, an infectious disease that reportedly originated in Wuhan, China in 2019. The Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, +0.71% jumped 215 points, or 0.7%, at 29,492, while the S&P 500 index SPX, +0.52% climbed 19 points, or 0.6%, at 3,377, while the Nasdaq Composite Index COMP, +0.57% advanced 68 points, or 0.7%, at 9,706.
