Dow drifts lower as investors await a key policy update from Fed's Powell

U.S. stock benchmarks on Wednesday retreated slightly at the open ahead of a Federal Reserve meeting and news conference expected to reaffirm the central bank's dovish policy stance. The Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, -0.47% was off by about 122 points, or 0.5%, at 25,764, while the S&P 500 index SPX, -0.36% was slipping 0.3% at 2,823, while the Nasdaq Composite Index COMP, -0.19% was off by 0.2% at 7,708.
