Doug Jones Looks Back On Star Trek: Discovery Season 4

We chat with StarTrek star actordougjones about his favorite StarTrekDiscovery season 4 memories, Saru's romance with T'Rina, and season 5 hints:

As Captain Saru, Doug Jones remained integral to the success of Star Trek: Discovery season 4. The Paramount+ original series is now available in a four-disc collection from CBS Home Entertainment.

Doug Jones Talks Star Trek: Discovery Season 4 Screen Rant: Do you have any favorite memories of Star Trek: Discovery season 4? Doug Jones: Right, right, right. That was kind of a big deal for him. Well, as you know, as the season started, he wasn't even on the ship at all. He had taken a little leave of absence at the end of season 3 to go home to his home planet of Kaminar and oversee the growth and development of his new little protégé, SuKal, played by the brilliant Bill Irwin, let's remind everyone. And so at the beginning of the season, he's on the council now.

Doug Jones: Right. That really does tell you who Saru is. And mind you, with this new uniform change, he's now wearing the red command color of the new uniforms in season 4. Along with his Delta badge, he's got a brooch on that signifies his place with the Kaminar High Council, which is a little uniform addition that no one else has. So I loved that he was wearing that.

I think Sonequa Martin-Green was very forthcoming in sharing her family issues that were happening at the time. Losing both parents while filming a season of the show, I can't imagine how anyone would get through that. Oh, she was absolutely amazing, but we did have to lose her for a while. We were filming and doing as much as we could without her, but you reach a point where your lead actor has to be back.
