Defining the News
The Department of Transportation and the United Nations Development Programme on Friday turned over electric vehicles , EV charging stations and other transport equipment to the local governments of Pasig, Baguio, Santa Rosa and Iloilo as part of the agencies’ promotion of low-carbon urban transport systems.
Bautista said the agency aimed to establish transit-oriented development in the Philippines, which focuses on low-carbon mobility. As the recipients, the local governments units and three transport cooperatives will participate in feasibility studies to be used for gathering and research of low carbon transport systems.
The agreement also involved transport cooperatives to help in the pilot of the EVs and EV charging stations.
