The Department of Transportation (DOTr) has designated Atty. Hector Villacorta as office-in-charge of the Land Transportation Office (LTO) following the resignation of Atty. Jose Arturo Tugade.

Villacorta is DOTr's Assistant Secretary for Communications and will serve as LTO OIC in a concurrent capacity. He once served as chief of staff of former Senate President Vicente Sotto III and administrator of Philippine Veterans Affairs Office .last week citing differences of methods with the DOTr.

Tugade, son of former Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade, was appointed LTO chief in November 2022 following his experience in management and litigation.
