Indian cricket fans celebrate the sport of cricket's return to the Olympics in 2028 after a 128-year absence. Bringing the world's second most popular sport into the games helps add a huge market of fans from South Asia.
JON JOHNSON Troy men’s basketball coach Scott Cross heaped some high praise on two Dothan products – Kameryn Mitchell and Thomas Dowd – during the Sun Belt Conference Media Day on Tuesday.
“Kam has been one of our better defenders – super, super athletic; super intelligent … just a great piece to our basketball team.”“Thomas actually played on my son’s AAU team, so I saw him play many, many times last year and he was a guy who just grew on me every single time I watched him,” Cross said. “But seeing him in practice every day, his growth has been as fast as anybody I’ve ever seen.
The Troy player representing the team at the media event Tuesday was Aamer Muhammad, a 6-foot-1 senior guard who Cross calls one of the top defenders on the team who also adds offensive firepower. He started 27 of 33 games a year ago and had three games in which he scored 20-plus points while leading the team in 3-pointers made with 62.
