Dr. Coe says each teacher is made aware of the rule from the time they are hired and throughout the school year. “If you look at fire codes, our schools were not designed to handle large numbers of appliances in the classrooms. That’s a fire hazard and also a coffee pot, we don’t want hot liquids around the children. There are some safety provisions there but again, this is something that has been in place for Dothan City Schools for years,"Coe said.
