A new poll about the impeachment of President Donald Trump shows most people think he will be well treated by the GOP-controlled Senate.
Trump is accused of abusing his power by attempting to solicit a foreign government's interference in the 2020 election to his personal advantage.
Once Trump is impeached by the House he will face a trial on the two articles in the Senate. To convict a president and remove him from office, two-thirds of the Senate must vote in favor.poll also found that 71 percent of Americans think Trump should allow his aides to testify at a Senate trial. Of Democrats, 87 percent thought the House treated Trump fairly, while 58 percent of independents agreed. But just 17 percent of Republicans thought Trump got fair treatment.
Graham added:"I am trying to give a pretty clear signal I have made up my mind. I'm not trying to pretend to be a fair juror here.""There won't be any difference between us on how to do this...The case is so darn weak coming over from the House," McConnell said.
