Residents of Nasarawa West Senatorial District have warned the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate in the last governorship election in the state, David Ombugadu, to desist from using the judiciary to go against the will of the people.
The senatorial district, which comprises Keffi, Karu, Kokona, Nasarawa and Toto local governments, all gathered in Keffi on Friday to voice their displeasure over the recent judgement of the state's governorship election petition tribunal, which removed Governor Abdullahi Sule from office. The residents showed their support for Governor Sule by carrying different placards with messages reflecting their surprise and dissatisfaction with the judgement.
Sule and no one else' and “nobody should ever think of using the judiciary to go against our will,” among others. The residents called upon the Court of Appeal to rectify what they perceived as an unjust decision of the tribunal and restore the rightful mandate of the incumbent governor.
