The Assistant Inspector General, AIG, of Police for Zone 6, Jonathan Towuru has cautioned men and officers of the Nigeria Police Force against infringing on the rights of citizens. He advised them to sufficiently educate themselves with relevant policy documents, stressing that it will help them avoid unnecessary litigations.
He gave this advice when he decorated 10 newly promoted Assistant Superintendents II in his office with their new ranks. While charging them to discharge their duties with sense of professionalism and patriotism, Towuru said that the promotion was in line with the Force Manpower Development Policy aimed at boosting the morale of Police personnel for effective service delivery.
He equally urged them to ensure strict supervision of subordinates, and push for community integration to build trust and confidence in the system of policing. Some of the newly decorated Officers include ASP Solomon Orong, ASP Helen Thomas, ASP Ibiang Ibor and ASP Liliana Okara. Speaking on behalf of others, ASP Solomon Orong expressed appreciation to the Nigeria Police for finding them worthy of the promotion.
