Australia capped off a dominant white-ball series against West Indies by thrashing the tourists in the decisive match of the one-day international series

West Indies 103; Australia 106-2 | Australia win by eight wicketsFast bowler Annabel Sutherland starred as Australia belted West Indies by eight wickets to claim a one-day international series victory in the decisive third match at Junction Oval.

The win caps off a dominant white-ball series for Australia, who clinched the rain-affected three-match ODI leg 2-0 and the Twenty20 series 2-1. Matthews managed only 23 runs before being trapped lbw by Kim Garth and, as has been the case all series, her teammates offered little help. Only Rashada Williams and quick Cherry-Ann Fraser reached double figures of those who remained.

Sutherland appealed for a catch after Stafanie Taylor played the ball into her right hand only centimetres from the ground as she followed through. The on-field umpire did not award the wicket initially, nor was the Australian slips cordon particularly enthusiastic in joining in Sutherland’s shout.
