Domestic Trade Ministry to take stern action against traders who hike price of face mask

PUTRAJAYA, Jan 27 — Stern action will be taken by the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs against traders taking advantage of the current outbreak of the 2019 novel coronavirus by indiscriminately increasing the price of face mask. He said legal action could be taken against the errant traders where they would face a maximum fine of RM100,000 , or imprisonment for up to three years, or both, if found guilty, while companies could be fined up to RM500,000 or compound up to RM250,000, if found guilty.
