Dolly Parton will debut select songs from her first rock album, 'Rockstar,' at a special first listen event in movie theaters nationwide.
, a couple of days before its official release on Nov. 17. The music will be accompanied by an exclusive interview with Parton, behind-the-scenes footage, a previously unseen performance of a holiday song “Circle of Love,” and a rare performance of Parton’s classic, “9 to 5.”
“I am excited to know that my fans around the world will be able to come together and be the first to hear a sneak peek of my Rockstar album,” Parton said in a statement. “I am so proud of this music, and I am humbled by all the wonderful artists who joined me. I cannot wait for people to hear it!”— which will mark Parton’s 49th solo album — finds the country legend tackling the rock and roll canon with 21 covers and nine originals.
Other guests include Stevie Nicks, Miley Cyrus, Chris Stapleton, P!nk, Brandi Carlile, Lizzo, Simon Le Bon, Emmylou Harris, Sheryl Crow, Michael McDonald, and John Fogerty.
