A LONG-TIME security aide of Negros Oriental Third District Rep.
Arnolfo Teves Jr. has been identified by Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla as one of the masterminds in the assassination of the province's governor Roel Degamo.Remulla told reporters on Monday that the aide, Marvin Halaman Miranda, hired the members of the assassination squad and provided them with firearms.
'He said it is now 'reasonable' to say that Teves paid for the firearms used in the assassination.The National Bureau of Investigation said the 31-year-old Miranda was arrested in Mayabay, Barbasa town, Antique, by a composite team from the NBI, the Philippine National Police and the Armed Forces of the Philippines .Miranda managed to slip out of Negros Oriental and had been staying in Antique from March 23 until his arrest.
