Anthony Albanese has conceded there will likely be swings to the Liberals in Queensland's by-elections, but stood by Steven Miles who is doing a 'remarkable job'.

Questioned if Mr Miles"deserved" to hold the top job in Queensland politics, Mr Albanese insisted his Labor colleague is"doing a great job as Premier". "I expect there'll be a swing away from the government in these by-elections today. That is just normal business. That is what happens in by-elections," Mr Albanese said.
According to The Courier Mail citing Labor insiders, hope is fading that Mr Miles can win the state election in about six months time.
