MANILA, Philippines — The country’s daily COVID-19 infections are projected to range from 289 to 611 by May 15, said the Department of Health on Wednesday. According to DOH officer-in-charge Maria Rosario Vergeire in a press briefing, the projections were based on the country’s transmission rate, vaccination levels, and compliance with minimum public health standards.As projected on April 11, national daily cases were expected to range from 289 to 611 by May 15, while daily infections in Metro Manila were expected to range from at least 30 cases to 122 cases in the same period.
But Vergeire reminded the public that these projections are only meant to help the government prepare its response to COVID-19.
