Environment official says the pile of rubbish had been collected over two years by a company which processes waste as fuel. plastic waste

IPOH: The Perak Environment Department has denied a British news report of an unmanaged dump of plastic waste in the jungles in Ipoh.

“The company operates in the IGB Industrial Area in Tasek and has not violated any regulations,” he said when asked to comment on a report in the Daily Mail about a six-metre deep plastic waste dump in the jungles here. K. Muralindran, operations director of Resourceco Asia Sdn Bhd said the rubbish at the site, estimated at two tonnes, had been collected from the beginning of this year.

“We are the first such company in Malaysia and processing waste into fuel actually helps to protect the environment, better than dumping waste at the disposal sites,” he said.
